Megahouse G.E.M. Hijikata Toushirou Ver. Ka

Introducing to you Megahouse G.E.M. Hijikata Toushirou Ver. Kai! You will find pictures of the actual product here. I would have to say unboxing this figure was a great pleasure. The details are superb and I'm going to let the pictures speak for themselves. Megahouse is really stepping up with some of its recent releases. The quality of this figure is outstanding. As to whether the figure is representative of the character, I'd say it all boils down to personal preference and, for me, I am quite satisfied.

Hijikata Toushiro is a character from the hit anime series Gintama. He is known as the Demon Vice Commander of the Shinsengumi in this show. In the show, Hijikata actually became an otaku who was also interested in collecting anime figures. His love for mayonnaise is very much emphasized in the show where he can be seen eating bowls of it or even using it as a weapon.

This is a Version Kai (New) because there has already been a previous release of Hijikata Toushiro ny Megahouse. It was also of the same standing position, although not exactly the same as this figure. I'm just emphasizing that it, in general, he is just standing in the new version as compared to more dynamic poses. Hence, the need to refer to this as a Version Kai (New Version) as opposed to a "Fighting" or "Dynamic" version.

I was not able to get the first version but, in terms of quality, I personally liked this better. He is quite a simple figure and he doesn't come with lots of accessories. A closer examination of the box later on would reveal the following contents:
  1. An extra arm - for holding out the sword
  2. His mayonnaise that he loves very much
  3. Cigarettes (similar to Sanji's cigarettes from One Piece)
  4. His sword - which you can actually put inside his sheath if you want to use the other hand for posing purposes.
  5. His jacket - he can actually either wear his jacket or not - it's up to the collector how he wants to pose this. We have also included pictures of him without the jacket.
Hijikata's default folding arm is holding something close to his face. This can actually be used to fit in the mayonnaise that comes with the figure or this can be used to hold the cigarettes for Hijikata.

In any case, please find more actual pictures and more of our review in the pictures below:

As you can see, the right hand is replaceable with another one and he also has his mayonnaise. His Katana can be sheathed too so it's no problem displaying it if you are not using the outstretched hand. He also has two cigarette sticks. If you ask me why he has two cigarette sticks, I'd say it's because there's a good chance you'll lose one of them if you're not careful.

I didn't have a problem replacing the right hand with the other one because it was a perfect fit, not too hard, not too loose.

Thank you for your time!

Figuarts Zero Perhona (Thriller Bark) from One Piece

Hello everyone! I'm back with another post. This time, I'm going to be doing a quick review of Figuarts Zero's Perhona from One Piece. This is the Thriller Bark edition and not the New World / Sailing Again edition. If you ask me, I prefer Perhona in the Thriller Bark arc since I think her costume is better and her color scheme is quite good at that time. She looks like candy by looking at her predominantly pink colors. And I also prefer her younger version during the Thriller Bark arc as compared to the more mature version of herself after the timeskip. Perhona (sometimes just Perona) first appeared in the Thriller Bark storyline. She used to serve under Gekko Moriah, the Shichibukai, but now she is seen tagging along Dracule Mihawk. It seems that Perhona has also developed somewhat of a relationship with Zoro since the both of them were taking up residence in Dracule Mihawk's mansion after the Sabaody Arc. Perhona's devil fruit power (Hollow Hollow Fruit / Hor...

Actual Pictures of MegaHouse G.E.M. Tetsuya Kuroko

Hello! I'm back with actual photos of Megahouse G.E.M. Tetsuya Kuroko from Kuroko's Basketball. I'm still new with the lighting but actual product with you may differ from the pictures due to the lights. Anyway, enjoy the actual photos of GEM Tetsuya Kuroko and I hope this will be helpful for you! Tetsuya Kuroko is one of the main protagonists in the anime series Kuroko no Basket. He is the famed phantom sixth man of the basketball team which was known as the Generation of Miracles for their talent. He was called as the "Phantom Sixth Man" because you could barely notice his presence and he was not as famous as the other members of the basketball team known as the Generation of Miracles. In his new team, he is paired up with Taiga Kagami who can go head-to-head with the members of the Generation of Miracles. Taiga Kagami and the other members of the Generation of Miracles have their own figures by Megahouse as well.  While Kuroko is known as the phantom s...
